1) Firms must be independent and directly authorised by the FSA
2) Firms must be fee-based*
3) Firms must have at least one adviser with Diploma or higher qualifications |
| * “Fee-based” is defined in terms of the Law Society Code of Conduct – i.e. any commissions must be surrendered to clients, who may apply the commission to reduce the adviser’s fees |
